About Dr. Tatiana Arilha Thom, MD
A primary care specialist, Dr Thom joined the Mill City Medical team in June 2022. She is board-certified in internal medicine as well as in nephrology and hypertension. A graduate of the Medical School Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut. She then completed her fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She speaks three languages – English, Portuguese, and Spanish – and what’s more, she’s an excellent listener (in all three languages) and a skilled, thorough clinician.
Beyond her “office jobs,” Dr Thom has put her medical skills to use as a volunteer, too. She served as a volunteer internal medicine resident at the Kabale Regional Hospital and Clare Nsenga Clinic in Uganda, Africa, and as a volunteer doctor for “Amigos do Bem” (Friends of Kindness), a nonprofit organization that aims to end suffering and hunger in northeastern Brazil.
Dr Thom has a special interest in resistant hypertension, kidney stones, and chronic kidney disease. She lives in Newton, MA.
