Lee Yergeau
About Lee
Lee’s experience as a physician assistant (PA) in the medical field runs the gamut. After spending her early career at orthopedic spine surgery, in-patient psychiatry, and family medicine practices, Lee has settled nicely into adult primary care since joining the team at Beth Israel Lahey Primary Care in 2017 and then Mill City Medical in 2020.
“I love my job as a PA, and if I had the choice to go back and do it all again, I truly would,” Lee says. “As a PA, I get to step into the role of patient educator and advocate, and it’s a role I take very seriously. My philosophy on patient care is giving my patients the tools and knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. I try not to tell them what they should do but rather educate them as to why and give them the power to make their plan.”
“My favorite part about caring for my patients is becoming a part of their life in a positive way – helping them become healthier, being someone they can lean on and look to in times of struggle, and pushing them to be their best, healthiest selves,” she continues.
In her free time, Lee’s a homebody and enjoys spending her days with my husband, daughter, and their dogs. “Our family rescues senior dogs in need of a loving home to spend their retirement days,” she says. “And we always have a houseful of them – currently four. As a family, we also love watching movies in our home theater, reading together, and playing Dungeons & Dragons, a game that encourages creative thinking.”
